Circuit "Railway Children" Walk
Following the success of last year’s “Canal” walk we shall be exploring the Worth Valley, with its “Railway Children” links, this being the 40th anniversary of the much loved film. Starting from Wesley Place Methodist Church, Haincliffe Road, Ingrow (next to Ingrow Railway Station on the Halifax Road out of Keighley) at 10.30am (coffee served from 10am) we shall follow the River Worth and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway line via Damems, Oakworth, and Haworth to Oxenhope Station, reaching there for a picnic lunch about 12.30pm. There is then an option! Either walking back to Ingrow (different route) or riding back to Ingrow on the train (2pm or 3.30pm; concessionary price £3.50, children 5-15 £2.35).
The terrain will be somewhat tougher than last year and good footwear is advised!
